How MIB is Reducing the Trash & Making Useful Things out of it | Rubber Tyres

People living in the metros in India have often seen the huge mountains made up of trash on the outskirts of their city. Ever wondered why they are getting bigger everyday?

The simple answer is… our Govt. is paying very little attention towards setting up “proper” recycling centres around them!

But as a citizen of this country don’t you think we shouldn’t be relying on the Govt. alone over this issue?? Aren’t we have any duties towards our nation and more importantly towards our beautiful nature??

If you think that way too.. Then join the “Upcycling Movement with MIB” and help reduce the trash out of the stinky trash mountains.. Together .. we will create a healthy and beautiful nation!

So, before you join let us make you aware of upcycling and with an example of product that we are creating, so that you can get a clear idea..

So what does Upcycling mean exactly?

Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.” – Wikipedia

Reimaging a Waste into a new Life is all we think about at MIB

What does Statistics say?

Every year, over one billion tyres are manufactured worldwide, and equal number of tyres are permanently removed from vehicles, becoming waste.

The U.S. is the largest producer of waste tyres, about 290 million a year, although increases in new vehicles sales in China and India are rapidly contributing to waste tyre volumes.

India’s waste tyres account for about 6-7% of the global total. With the local tyre industry growing at 12% per annum, waste volumes are rising.

India has been recycling and reusing waste tyres for four decades, although it is estimated that 60% are disposed of through illegal dumping. Despite this, India is second largest producer of reclaimed rubber after China.

How alarming is the problem of waste tyres globally?

Although modern tyres are fundamentally rubber products, they are a complex mix of natural and synthetic rubbers, and various structural reinforcing elements including metals and chemical additives.

This complexity has led to stockpiling, dumping and diversion to landfill. This has exposed communities to environmental and health risks and has squandered valuable resources locked up in tyre dumps.

How are we contributing for better environment?

Our Planet is becoming hot as hell these days, due to global warming, and burning of trash and tyres adds to it. All we need to do is to act and contribute a little.

That’s what inspire us to reimagine things out of waste. Isn’t it sounds great. Trust me, we love more while making it!.

We have been making efforts, from the last 1 year continuously, to reduce the trash output from our homes by recycling/upcycling most of the things out of the trash!

For instance: we are converting the used tyres into useful yet beautiful ottomans that can be used in balconies, terrace, living room, office or in garden.

We are also upcycling glass/plastic bottles by converting them into “beautiful home-decors”
